What is Junior Civitan?

Junior Civitan is a community service organization for students at New Bridge Middle School.  Junior Civitan members seek to meet the needs of our world and promote progress in a world of change.  The NBMS advisors invite students to be a part of the Junior Civitan club's commitment to making a difference.

  • Junior Civitan's purpose is to provide all of our members with personal and career development opportunities while improving schools and communities through volunteer service.
  • Established in 1932, Junior Civitan is a program of Civitan International.
  • Junior Civitan has 12,000 members in nearly 400 clubs.
  • There are Junior Civitan clubs in North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
  • The New Bridge chapter is the only Junior Civitan club in Onslow County.
  • The New Bridge Junior Civitan is associated with our parent organization, the Jacksonville Civitans.

Community Service

Locally, Jacksonville Civitan and the New Bridge Junior Civitan supports Special Olympics, Christmas Cheer, Onslow Women Shelter, Second Chance Mission, and many other worthy organizations and causes.  As a North Carolina club, our parent organization supports regional projects such as the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina located in Lake Waccamaw, NC and Duke Child Development Unit.

Students of all grade levels are welcome to join the NBMS Junior Civitan.
