SciFri clipartSummary Statement:  SciFri is a New Bridge S.T.E.A.M. initiative.  This is a Friday “Lunch and Learn” series for students interested in the field of science and related careers.  SciFri is an academic, non-competition, open (no tryouts) event that takes place on selected Fridays under the direction of Mrs. Baile.

Purpose:

SciFri has been organized as “Lunch and Learn” series throughout the school year.  Students are able to take advantage of the mid-day, 30 minute break away from standard academic work and learn something new while having lunch!  The NBMS Science Department welcomes a lineup of unique guest presenters from our local community and across the nation who bring big ideas and provide an opportunity to learn more about key issues related to science.

Location:

SciFri Lunch and learn sessions are held on selected Fridays in the Science Lab or the media center during 6th, 7th or 8th grade lunch hour.

Past Speakers:

  • Les Still- Meterologist with WCTI-TV 12
  • Dr. Wooten- Center for Earth and Space Science Education
