Congratulations to our newest National Board Certified teacher, Mrs. Margie Anderson.  On Saturday, November 17, 2012, Mrs. Anderson received word that she is a National Board Certified Teacher!! She joins an elite group of master teachers who have achieved one of the highest honors in the teaching profession.  She joins 6 other National Board Certified Teachers currently employed at New Bridge Middle School.

You may be aware that earning National Board Certification is a challenging, though rewarding, process. The qualifying standards are rigorous, typically demanding months of intensive study, challenging exams, and thorough self-assessment and peer review. Teachers devote hundreds of hours of their time, working to meet the certification criteria.

Teachers are evaluated in three areas: their individual disciplines, their professional and community involvement, and their classroom expertise. Teachers submit four portfolio entries to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards which developed and now administers the program. Of these entries, three are classroom-based while the fourth involves teachers' community and professional activities.

We are extremely proud of Mrs. Anderson and all of the current and former New Bridge teachers who have attained this high honor. They bring credit to themselves and our school. Most importantly, they have proven they are dedicated to the profession of teaching, the improvement of themselves, and the learning of all students.
