To ease overcrowding at Carolina Forest Elementary School, Trexler Middle School and Richlands High School Board of Education members unanimously approved a redistricting plan starting in 2015-16.
Board members made a painful, heart wrenching decision, but they made the redistricting decision based on what they believe is in the best interest of the children and the community. Staff is already hard at work because so these transitions will be as smooth as possible for parents and students. Please be positive because all our schools are great schools! Those not in attendance will be able to watch the video when it runs on G-10.
Summary of Redistricting staring in 2015-16
- At the elementary level to address over capacity issues at Carolina Forest Elementary, the realignment proposal will balance student population over five elementary schools —Jacksonville Commons, Bell Fork, Morton, Silverdale & Hunters Creek while still allowing for future growth at Morton, Silverdale and Hunters Creek.
